a Non-Profit wealth building initiative
The TimbukII Initiative“The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.” It’s never too late to start building a family’s legacy of transgenerational wealth.
Getting Involved
Support Our Initiative
property ownership
At The TimbukII Initiative, we hand select families and individuals who would be successful in our program. Since the Timbuctoo community in the 1850’s, there has been much speculation regarding why the black land grantees are no longer represented in the Adirondack region. What happened to them? Who ultimately got their land? Why did so many black New Yorkers choose not to occupy the land that was granted to them? Keeping all of that in mind, we have created a system to ensure long term success for all families who will eventually become “community amplifiers”. Once a family is chosen through our qualification program, we begin the process of helping them decide the best use of their property.
MakING a Donation
There are several ways you can support The TimbukII Initiative. Maybe you have several acres of unused property and would like to donate land? Maybe a monetary donation makes the most sense for you. You can also choose to volunteer your time or knowledge to help a particular family or individual.

What Drives Us
Our Mission
Our mission is to enfranchise Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) communities by increasing access to land and property ownership in the Adirondacks and Northeastern United States. Through education, outreach, and abolishing discriminatory gatekeeping policies, we aim to close the racial wealth gap by enabling historically marginalized populations to acquire, retain, and build sustainable livelihoods on their own land and property. With businesses, homes, and communities across the Adirondacks and Northeast region, these families can exercise their full economic rights and self-determination.
What Drives Us
Our Vision
We envision a just, equitable society where BIPOC communities have accessible pathways to land ownership, economic prosperity, and generational wealth.
Our vision is of an Adirondacks and Northeast region where people of color freely build and sustain thriving businesses, own homes, and steward their own properties and natural resources. We envision BIPOC families and communities experiencing the dignity of economic enfranchisement, living in a society that values their voices and removes barriers to inclusion. Through our vision, historically marginalized populations will rightfully gain access to land and capital, participating fully in the economy with agency, ownership, and sustainable livelihoods. We envision a future where eliminating the racial wealth gap translates into enduring social and economic justice for BIPOC people in the Adirondacks and beyond.
